11:01 pm - It's pounding in my brain tonight, I'm only human.. Apart from all the work and christmas shopping thats been going on recently I went to see Bullets & Octane. I forgot my camera, thought I'd forgotten my railcard so paid full price then found it, forgot my mirror so had to do my make up at work in the toilets....all set to be pretty bad! It was pretty good actually, but I was mostly confused. This could've been due to working since seven am, but meh. The first band were some proper 80's throwbacks, like they were influenced by the Anvil revival or something. A bit like they were trying to be Iron Maiden...or Whitesnake. They were good at it, but it was just odd. Hmm. They're guitarist was pretty damn cute however, and had great arms and a lovely shape to him. I do believe they had a song called 'Two Hot Girls coming out of the Storm(?)' Maybe Bullets were up next, They too have some rather pretty members, especially the rhythm section. Anyway, Gene came out without his shirt off straight away, showing off his rather weird tattoos and writhing about all over the place Iggy Pop style. He looked quite odd until the rest of the band really got into the swing of things. He also looks like some very strange cross between Josh Todd and Rufus Wainwright. Hmmm. They played a good mix of songs, I'm rather miffed it was only a support set. Not much off Songs for The Underdog though, which is my favourite. :( Maybe they don't like it as its a bit different to the rest of their stuff. Gunfire 76 were the headline act, who are Wednesday13's new band. I was wondering why he suddenly had a new band and wasn't just performing as Wednesday13 still, but it turns out he's gone all Rawk and dropped a lot of the 'horror' stuff, maybe a reaction to Acey Slade kicking off his career? It was good stuff, and i'm gonna hunt down an album and just pretend its not Wednesday, coz i remember him in corpse make up and a hot pink wig... Happily, his encore was 'Nineteen Seventy SixSixSix' and 'I love to say Fuck'. Old, old stuff <3 If i'd walked in halfway through I could've never told you it was Wednesday. Did not recognise him at all. However, I will be seeing him again in January as thats who the Sex Slaves are playing with when I'll be going to see them in Rochester. So thats my next gig :) Wish they were headlining it though :/ Wednesday13 ruining everything! Speaking of going to America, i got a belated birthday card off that boy. It has raccoons on it and his very cute, boy-handwriting :D It's less than a month till i go now :D I will expanding my horizons more in march by going to Helsinki, to see Lord of the Lost at a festival, where no doubt i'll get drunk and lost and scared in a foreign place. WIN. This was quite a long update Tonight I have mostly enjoyed sitting, after my trekking round Milton Keynes and London. :) Just watched Constantine and swooned over Gavin Rossdale a bit, may go off to bed and read more of my new Pratchett <3 Current Location: sofa Current Mood: confused
